Skincare Tips For Your Twenties

It’s easy to wait until the signs of aging start to appear and then think you can tackle it then, but treating damage is a lot harder than it is to prevent it.

Just because you may be in your twenties with minimal signs of aging, doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t start thinking about taking precautions against the signs of aging now already.

For example, if you are tanning your skin on the regular with minimal sun protection then while that bronzed skin may look gorgeous now, it’s not going to be the same situation 20 years from now when the skin damage you are currently inflicting starts to show.

Use a retinol cream

Your twenties is actually the ideal time to introduce a retinol cream into your skin care routine. 

A retinol cream has some fantastic anti-aging benefits and may also help to shrink your pores, reduce acne breakouts, brighten your complexion, even the skin tone and increase cell turnover, which promotes the formation of collagen, a structural protein absolutely essential for taut, plump and youthful skin.  

 

Don’t skip the SPF

A high SPF is very important year round, even when the sun is hiding behind the clouds!

The sun is your skin’s worst enemy in terms of skin damage and aging, not to mention the fact that it can increase your risk of skin cancer which is simply not worth it in our opinion!

Ingredients like retinol and Vitamin C can also make your sun more sun-sensitive making it that much more important to include an SPF in your routine if these ingredients are a regular part of your ritual. 


Drink loads of water

Drinking water should be a way of life for you and not something you should even have to think about.

Water helps to plump the skin cells from the inside out and hydrated cells are key to youthful skin.

Drink at least two liters of pure, filtered water a day and try adding in some lemon and cucumber for a refreshing antioxidant boost!

A little sprig of mint is great too to help reduce bloat and improve digestion to help flush toxins from your system.

 

Ditch the cigs

Smoking is just bad news for you all around.

It’s awful for your health and the free radicals in the smoke are terrible for aging your skin. Even if you slather your skin in antioxidants, your insides are still taking the brunt and when free radicals run rampant in your body it will manifest externally as aging, unhappy skin.

Ditch the cigs for good, you are worth more.
