Trick or Treat—Three Simple Skincare Tricks to Treat Your Skin Right this Fall

Trick or Treat—Three Simple Skincare Tricks to Treat Your Skin Right this Fall

As we get deeper into the autumn season, temperatures are dropping, and, in many places, the air is getting drier. In other words, the climate is becoming less and less favorable for skin.

But don’t worry! You don’t have to resign yourself to a fate of dry, flaky skin. Here are a few simple steps you can take to keep your skin hydrated and healthy all season long:

Moisturize!

This first tip is probably a pretty obvious one—but it’s extremely important! When the air around us is dry, moisture is drawn out from the outermost layers of our skin. This can lead to flaking and/or cracking, which in turn can cause itching and irritation or even infection. It is therefore incredibly important to frequently replenish your skin’s moisture content by applying moisturizing products. We recommend the Esela Daily Moisturizer for supple, hydrated skin in every season!

Drink Water!

Again, this may seem obvious. If a lack of hydration is the problem, then naturally, you should hydrate to solve the problem. But people often rely too heavily on external, topical hydration and forget that it is even more important to hydrate from within. Even those who do realize that they need to drink plenty of water to keep their skin hydrated often have a misconceived idea of just how much “plenty of water” is. A general, easy-to-remember recommendation is eight 8-oz glasses of water a day. It’s helpful to get a water bottle that you can keep with you all day. So grab a bottle and get hydrating!

Keep Using Sunscreen!

Though it may not be as sunny outside as it is during the summer, there are still harmful rays that can damage your skin. Your fall wardrobe of long-sleeved sweaters and full-length pants will keep a lot of your skin safe, but your face is probably mostly exposed. So though you probably don’t need to lather on the SPF 100 like you would if you were spending all day outside on a beach, you should definitely still be using some form of sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 on your face every single day.

And that's it! Just use these three very simple tricks, and you can have soft, supple skin all season. What a treat!
